August 25 – Free Concealed Handgun Training – 4 hr Live Fire – Southern Colorado

This course is actual training and does partially meet the requirements to obtain a Concealed Handgun Permit in Colorado and many other states.  

FOR COLORADO CONCEALED HANDGUN REQUIREMENTS: This course will include the required shooting test and 4 hours of qualified training.  You can take this class in conjunction with our LAW FOCUSED FREE CONCEALED CARRY CLASS for your total of 8 required hours.  You do not need to take these classes in any particular order. You will receive your certificate once you have satisfied all of the State of Colorado bullshit requirements. Tickets are down below! 

For RENEWAL training requirements, this class EXCEEDS the legally required REFRESHER course.  A renewal certificate can be issued upon completion of this course. 

This class is located on a private range in Pueblo County.  Please note the address and travel time for you to get there.  Training facilities are not easy to procure, we apologize for the inconvenience. 

The half day Fundamentals of IDS is a shooting course that will expose the student to the core principles and fundamentals of the Intuitive Defense Shooting Program in an abbreviated format. The course will cover the following topics:

• Fundamentals of Defensive Shooting & Intuitive Skill Development
• Firearm Safety
• Combat Accuracy
• The Balance of Speed & Precision
• The Critical Incident Reload
• Volume of Fire

The Intuitive Defense Shooting Course is not designed to make you the best shooter you can be on the range, instead, its goal is to help you quickly develop fundamental skills that you can apply in a worst-case scenario defensive shooting situation.

IDS is based on years of constantly evolving information about how the body works and what happens during Dynamic Critical Incidents. It has been heavily influenced by the diverse group of instructors that are certified to teach it and the thousands of students who have been through courses all around the world. The program features a variety of specialty drills and training methods that the student will be able to utilize in their practice after the course to continue to develop their abilities.

Course Eligibility:
No Prerequisites

Cost:  Free, but a deposit is required. We get many flakes, and a deposit helps with that problem. The deposit is eligible to be refundable only if you show up. The range charges us per each individual that attends and we also incur other charges and donations help us. If you don’t attend the deposit can be used towards other Defensive Shooting courses.

Please bring the following gear to the course:

• Pistol
• Good quality belt, holster and magazine carrier that can withstand heavy use
• 200 rounds of ammunition
• At least 3 magazines for high capacity double stack firearms, 5 plus magazines for single stack firearms.
• Eye and ear protection.
• Comfort items such as snacks, drinks.
• Sunscreen and bug spray if training outdoors and seasonal/weather appropriate clothing

If you serve or are employed in an armed capacity, we recommend you train with your duty gear. For concealed carry permit holders, we recommend that you start the course with an outside the waistband holster, but bring your concealed carry rig if you want to get some reps using that setup.

Students should arrive at 8:45 AM and be ready to begin class by 9:00 AM. There is a debriefing at the end of the class.
